The Gillette Masters and Gillette Schools Special Olympics teams are inspiring groups of athletes who proudly represent the Gillette community through dedication, sportsmanship, and inclusion.
The Gillette Masters team includes 60 adult athletes, 8 coaches, 10 unified partners, and numerous volunteers, while the Gillette Schools team is made up of 42 student-athletes, supported by 19 coaches and 24 unified partners.
Athletes compete in a wide range of sports, including bowling, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, basketball, swimming, track, and cheerleading. They travel to Sheridan, Terry Peak, Jackson, and Casper to compete throughout the year, and proudly participate in the State Summer Games held right here in Gillette.
In addition to their wholehearted participation in their individual sports, these athletes are just as encouraging and uplifting toward their fellow competitors, always embodying the true spirit of Special Olympics.
One of the most meaningful aspects of the program is that athletes are never asked to pay to compete, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to shine, regardless of financial circumstances.
